Study Objectives and Procedure This study examines attitudes toward digitalization and digital competencies in higher education. The goal is to better understand how students learn, work, and develop in the digital age. In addition to a main survey, participants are invited to install PersonalAnalytics, a software tool developed at the University of Zurich, on their work devices.
What does PersonalAnalytics (PA) do? PersonalAnalytics records app usage data (e.g., start and end times, app names—but no content), aggregated input data (such as keyboard and mouse activity, no keylogging), and short, periodic well-being check-ins. All data collected are stored exclusively on your device and are visible only to you.
Data Donation: After approximately 3, 6, and 9 weeks, you will have the option to donate your anonymized data for research purposes. Participation and data donation are entirely voluntary, and your anonymity is guaranteed at all times.
By taking part, you contribute to research on digital education and digital competencies. Many thanks!
